Alexandria Lemon Law Attorney

Did you purchase a vehicle that has turned out to be a lemon? If so, you may be able to get a full refund for the price of the car or trade the car in for one of equal value. I protect the rights of consumers who have purchased cars that are lemons. Talk to me today, and we can explore your rights and options.

I am Nathan Baney, a Virginia lemon law lawyer, who is dedicated to protecting the rights of consumers. If a car dealer or manufacturer breached a warranty and you need an attorney serving Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax,  northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. to assist you, I can help.

What Is a Lemon?

In Virginia, if there is a defect in the car that does not meet the safety and performance standards stated in the warranty, the car is considered a lemon. If the manufacturer does not correct the defect, the consumer can bring a claim under lemon laws.

Car dealers sometimes knowingly put lemon cars back out on the lots to sell. This can happen if the car has been sold before and comes back as a lemon. The dealer and the manufacturer know the car is a lemon and continue to sell the car.

Virginia Lemon Law

Under our state's lemon laws, if you had to bring your car in for repairs three times within 18 months, you may be entitled to a full refund or a replacement car. These repairs can be related to the vehicle's appearance, performance or safety. If the car needed repairs for a life-threatening condition just once, you may be entitled to a full refund or replacement car.

Manufacturers that do not honor purchase contracts and vehicle warranties need to be held accountable.

In addition to Virginia's lemon laws, I am familiar with the federal lemon laws governing warranties — the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. I can protect your rights under state and federal law.

If you purchased a car that turned out to be a lemon, I can listen to you about your experiences with the car and the repairs it underwent, determine if you have a valid lemon law claim and help you obtain a full refund or a replacement vehicle.
